Matsya Kanye in Indian folklore, is considered an incarnation on Goddess Parvathi, wife of Lord Shiva. She incarnated as a fisher woman and married her divine counterpart Lord Shiva, who incarnated as a fisherman, in order to slay a demon who terrorized the coastal inhabitants.
This artwork was inspired by a workshop conducted by a very talented Indian artist.
